| Name: Desmond Llewelyn | | Armourer: 1963-1999 | |  | | Probably the most famous character in all the series after James Bond, of course. Desmond first makes his appearence in From Russia With Love as a nice gentlemanly armourer, but at the request of Goldfinger's director Guy Hamilton, Des plays his role with flair and contempt for a man who keeps damaging his gadgets. Brilliantly suggested by Guy and brilliantly played by Llewelyn. His film character left the series in 1999 and his real life persona died shortly after.
